Caliber - 414th NESHER - Art Hagana

Nesher’s Support Hagana wears a helmet cover called “mitznefet”. Although it can be confused with an olive-colored shower cap, it has a very much applied significance.
The Israel Defense Force troops mostly operate in rough climate and hostile terrain conditions. Hills and valleys give way to the Negev desert where flatland is visible up until the horizon, and vegetation is represented only by thin shrubs. In these conditions, camouflaging becomes a tough task. This is where mitznefet comes into play. It “breaks” the soldier’s outline, blurring their silhouette, and covers the helmet from the sun and moon, eliminating possible glares.
Hagana’s mitznefet is there for authenticity only. It does not influence the character’s hitbox.
