KOREA. IL2 SERIES - MODELS - F-80C Shooting Star

America's first successful turbojet-powered combat aircraft, Shooting Stars first saw combat service in the Korean War, and were among the first aircraft to be involved in jet-versus-jet combat. They were soon outclassed with the appearance of the swept-wing transonic MiG-15 and were quickly replaced in the air superiority role by the transonic F-86 Sabre. F-80C-10 displayed here was the most numerous and advanced modification of this aircraft that was extensively used in Korea.
