The MG4 machine gun (also known as the HK123). Initially, this competitor to the Belgian FN Minimi was developed by Heckler & Koch as the MG43. However, the Germans later decided to abandon this name, and the machine gun was simply called the MG4. In addition, the designers dropped the traditional H&K roller-locked action in favor of the less exotic, but more reliable rotating bolt design. The result was a modern light machine gun, not only adopted by the Bundeswehr, but also popular in export markets. Military trials were held in the summer of 2020 by the 26th (Saarland) Luftlandebrigade. The main visual difference of this weapon is the new 4x30 scope, which has the option of turning the red aiming mark on and off.
